opal creek farm
our commitment
to the planet
Opal Creek Farm is certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers, which means we grow food in harmony with the surrounding natural ecosystem.
More specifically, certified organic farms (like ours!) must grow crops in a way that improves and enhances the land and surrounding wildlife. We don’t use harmful chemicals or pesticides in our fields, we are dedicated to keeping our soil rich and healthy, and we deal with pests using strategies found in nature.
If you’re interested in learning more about organic, the Rodale Institute has a comprehensive library of resources.
What we grow
early girl tomatoes
Early Girls are satisfyingly round, medium-sized, red tomatoes with pure, full-bodied tomato flavor. We love cooking with them, slicing them with a sprinkle of salt to eat raw, adding them to salads, or even chomping right into one like an extra-juicy apple.
Sungold tomatoes
Sungolds are golden yellow-orange cherry tomatoes that are universally loved for their sweet, candy-like taste. Dry-farming our Sungolds takes their sweetness to another level, concentrating their flavor into a burst of tomato-tinged honey.
2025 growing season
Early Girls and Sungolds have our hearts, but here’s what else we’re growing in 2025:
Sweet corn
Pole beans
Sugar snap peas
Lunchbox peppers
Cornito peppers
Diva cucumbers
Cantaloupes
Watermelons
